MenPANRB and BKN Head Share Open Messages to Civil Servants
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — The Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPAN-RB), Rini Widyantini, posted a handwritten letter addressed to all State Civil Apparatus (ASN) members. The letter was flooded with comments from civil servants who said they were moved by its contents.
The letter was posted on the Instagram account @menpanrb on Saturday, 18 July 2026. Opening the letter, Rini expressed her respect and gratitude to all civil servants who serve the public every day.
The Minister asked civil servants to continue maintaining their integrity in their work, so that it may become a source of national pride.
“Keep upholding integrity, strengthen your spirit of service, and be the pride of Indonesia,” she wrote, as quoted on Monday (20 July 2026).
Rini expressed the hope that civil servants can serve with a smile, remain trustworthy in their duty as a form of worship, and keep up their spirit of serving the nation. There was no explanation of why Rini wrote the letter, but here is the full text of the MenPAN-RB’s letter:
“To all State Civil Apparatus members across Indonesia, whom I love and am proud of.
Today I wish to greet you as fellow human beings entrusted with a great responsibility. I know not every day feels easy.
Some work amid limitations.
Some face high expectations from society.
Some must keep smiling while serving, even while carrying exhaustion, longing for family, or personal troubles.
Yet every morning, you put on the uniform of service.
You keep opening your service doors.
You keep answering the needs of the people.
You keep showing up.
And know this: that presence is a trust and an act of worship.
Perhaps not all your hard work earns applause.
Perhaps not every sacrifice makes the news.
But every child who receives a better education, every patient served with sincerity, every aid delivered to the community, every road built, every piece of data managed correctly — all of these are the true face of a state at work.
The state is present through your hands.
Amid the various challenges and great opportunities Indonesia faces today, I invite us all to remain focused on carrying out the great mandate of the nation we love.
Let challenges be a booster to keep serving with spirit. It is precisely in times of challenge that professionalism is proven, and dedication finds its meaning.
The history of this nation was not built by those who work only when things are easy.
History is built by those who keep standing, keep working, and keep believing that the good done today will become a legacy for generations to come.
I believe there are still very many public servants who work quietly, without the spotlight, without praise, but with extraordinary dedication. They are the true face of Indonesia.

Not only Rini, but the Head of the State Civil Service Agency (BKN), Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, also conveyed a special message to civil servants. On BKN’s official Instagram account, a message from Zudan was displayed. Unlike Rini’s, his message was not handwritten.
He emphasised the importance of the role civil servants play in serving the public, even when their work escapes the spotlight.
“Silent dedication, a nation that grows. Not all the work of civil servants is lit by the stage lights. But in quiet classrooms, behind service desks, in every report examined with care — that is where a nation’s pulse is kept alive,” read the BKN post.
According to him, such dedication must be carried out by all civil servants regardless of their profession. He noted there are 6.7 million civil servants with 6.7 million different ways of serving the country.
“Teachers, midwives, public order officers, researchers, nurses, doctors, and more. 6.7 million civil servants are 6.7 million ways of loving Indonesia. Step forward — Allah SWT approves of every sincere work done for the country,” he wrote.
