Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) has stated that the redevelopment of the fishermen’s settlement area in Tanjung Anom Village, Mauk Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency, Banten, embodies the spirit of Indonesia ASRI.

“This is also the spirit that we are collectively championing, namely realising Indonesia ASRI: Aman (Safe), Sehat (Healthy), Resik (Clean) or bersih (clean), tertata (well-organised), and the ‘I’ stands for Indah (Beautiful). Hopefully, Tanjung Anom can become even more asri,” said AHY in Tanjung Anom Village, Mauk Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Thursday.

AHY visited to directly inspect the redevelopment of the slum fishermen’s settlement in Tanjung Anom, Mauk Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency, Banten Province.

“Today, we directly observed the condition of the settlement area which previously could be said to be unfit for living. Construction, repairs, and reorganisation of people’s homes, especially those of fishermen and their families, have been carried out,” he said.

“We saw 110 houses that were built earlier, and once again, this is a collaboration between the Tangerang Regency Government, which also prepared the basic infrastructure, namely neighbourhood roads, sanitation, lighting, and so on, together with Habitat for Humanity,” AHY added.

For information, the Tangerang Regency Government, Banten Province, has prepared a programme to build decent housing areas for 110 fishermen in Tanjung Kait, Tanjung Anom Village, Mauk Subdistrict.

Tangerang Regent Moch Maesyal Rasyid in Tangerang on Tuesday stated that the programme to renovate Unfit Houses (RTLH) into decent and healthy homes for fishermen is part of the strategy to tackle poverty and improve the quality of life for the community in the area.
