Menhaj: Preparations for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage remain normal and safe

Minister of Hajj and Umrah (Menhaj) Mochamad Irfan Yusuf has ensured that preparations for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage are continuing normally and safely amid the dynamics in the Middle East region.

He stated that the government is continuously conducting intensive coordination with Saudi authorities, as well as Indonesian representatives, to guarantee the safety of prospective Hajj pilgrims.

“We always coordinate and communicate with the Saudi Government. We coordinate with our Foreign Ministry, the Indonesian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, and also with our Hajj committee there,” said Menhaj Irfan at the Al-Mizan Islamic Boarding School in Majalengka, West Java, on Monday.

He assured that the safety aspect of prospective Hajj pilgrims remains the top priority, as to anticipate various possibilities, the government has prepared several layered mitigation scenarios.

“Then we prepare several plans, Plan A, Plan B, Plan C. Of course, we have coordinated this with our friends from Commission VIII of the House of Representatives. Hopefully everything can run smoothly,” said Menhaj Irfan.

“Everything is already settled. Catering is ready, hotels are ready, local transportation there is ready. Everything is ready,” said Menhaj Irfan.

Regarding the quota, he conveyed that there is no addition of prospective Hajj pilgrims this year, so the number remains around 221,000 people. “No additional quota. Still 221,000 people,” he stated.
