Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, emphasised that the operational preparations for the departure of Hajj pilgrims in 1447 Hijriah/2026 are proceeding according to plan and have reached nearly 100% progress. “We are continuously refining the operational preparations. Our main focus is to ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims through various comprehensive mitigation measures,” he stated in a press release received in Jakarta on Saturday evening. The Ministry of Hajj is committed to organising this year’s Hajj pilgrimage in a manner that reflects smooth, clean public services free from any form of deviation. To that end, he stressed that East Java, as the province with the largest Hajj quota in Indonesia, plays a strategic role as a benchmark for the success of the national Hajj organisation. This commitment to transparency is demonstrated by the Ministry of Hajj’s involvement of professionals from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Attorney General’s Office, and the Indonesian National Police in supervising procurement and financial governance. He added that these steps are an implementation of the President’s instructions to provide transparent Hajj services oriented towards pilgrim satisfaction.
