Menhaj Ensures Hajj 2026 Preparations Nearly Complete, Focus on Pilgrim Safety
JAKARTA – The Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, has emphasised that the operational preparations for dispatching Hajj pilgrims in the year 1447 Hijriyah/2026 are proceeding according to plan and have reached nearly 100% progress.
“We are continuously refining the operational preparations. Our main focus is to ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims through various comprehensive mitigation measures,” he stated in a press release received in Jakarta on Saturday night (28/3/2026).
The Ministry of Hajj is committed to organising this year’s Hajj pilgrimage in a manner that reflects smooth, clean public services free from any form of irregularities.
To that end, he stressed that East Java, as the province with the largest Hajj pilgrim quota in Indonesia, holds a strategic role as a benchmark for the success of the national Hajj organisation.
Regarding the management of Hajj funds amounting to approximately Rp18 trillion, he underscored the importance of accountability in every budget management process.
This commitment to transparency is demonstrated by the Ministry of Hajj through the involvement of professionals from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Prosecutor’s Office, and the National Police in overseeing procurement and financial governance.
He added that these steps represent the implementation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia’s directives to provide transparent Hajj services oriented towards pilgrim satisfaction.
