Serang - The Minister of Creative Economy (Menekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, stated that the consistent organisation of the Banten Creative Fest (BCF) Ramadan 2026 can serve as a space for collaboration between creative communities and local business actors, which is important for strengthening the creative economy ecosystem to become the new engine of growth, or the main driver of new economic growth.

“I greatly appreciate the people of Banten, especially in the city of Serang, who are able to present a national-level event like tonight. This shows that the creativity of young people has great potential to continue developing,” said the Menekraf in an official statement confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The event, held at the West Town Square in Serang, Banten, and closed on Tuesday (17/3), featured more than 80 local brands in the fashion and lifestyle subsectors, as well as more than 50 culinary tenants, accompanied by music performances and creative community activities.

Teuku also conveyed that the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, has designated the province of Banten as one of the priority locations for creative economy development in the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) 2025-2029, with support for intellectual property-based People’s Business Credit (KUR) financing of Rp10 trillion in 2026.

Before the closing, the Creative Economy Minister inspected the creative booths and directly dialogued with creative economy business actors. He invited all parties to continue strengthening collaboration in developing the creative economy sector in various regions.

“We see many local brands born from the creativity of young people. I am confident that these works can not only develop at the national level but also have opportunities to penetrate the global market,” he added.

On the same occasion, the Governor of Banten, Andra Soni, stated that the presence of creative booths in BCF 2026 is a strategic step by the Provincial Government of Banten in providing space for creative economy actors to continue developing and providing positive impacts on regional economic improvement.

“This festival shows the spirit and innovation of Banten’s youth. Their works are the strength that will bring this region further forward,” said Andra.

BCF is a creative economy event that presents creative booths of local products, cuisine, music entertainment, and community activities in one interactive space, especially packaged with a Ramadan atmosphere.

This festival, which has been running for nine years, serves as a platform for UMKM actors and local brands to market products, expand networks, and bring creative works closer to the wider public.
