Mendukbangga: Trauma healing prepared for train crash victims
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Population and Family Development (Mendukbangga)/Head of BKKBN, Wihaji, stated that his office is ready to provide trauma recovery (trauma healing) for victims of the train collision in Bekasi who require it.
Mendukbangga Wihaji, speaking in Jakarta on Tuesday, expressed condolences and concern over the incident involving a collision between a KRL commuter train and a long-distance train at Bekasi Timur Station, West Java, on Monday (27/4) night. He said that the current focus of the relevant parties is on handling the victims.
“Of course, we will follow up later; if needed, in quotes, on several matters related to consultation, related to families, trauma healing—that is usually our authority in that area,” said Mendukbangga Wihaji.
Previously, an accident occurred between the Argo Bromo Anggrek train (KA) and the KRL or commuter line at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27/4) night.
Then, at 20:52 WIB, KRL code 5181B heading to Jakarta collided with a stalled taxi at a crossing on Jalan Ampera. The KRL code 5568A heading to Cikarang was held at Bekasi Timur Station.
At 20:57, the Argo Bromo train collided with the KRL at Bekasi Timur Station. The locomotive of the KA entered up to half of the rearmost carriage of the KRL.
The time of the incident is based on statements from witnesses at the scene.
KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin stated that based on the latest data as of 08:45 WIB, 14 people have been recorded as deceased.
The deceased victims have been taken to RS Polri Kramat Jati for further identification processes. Meanwhile, 84 injured victims have received medical treatment at various health facilities.
