Mendikti: Education is Not Built by One Party, but Through Mutual Cooperation
JAKARTA - The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendikti Saintek) Brian Yuliarto has urged parents, society, the business world, and all stakeholders to take an active role in supporting education. Brian stated that quality education will not be realised if it is only carried out by the state without participation from society. “The state, family, school, university, society, business world, educators, researchers, students, and university students—all are architects of Indonesia’s future,” said Brian while leading the National Education Day (Hardiknas) commemoration ceremony 2026 at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology office in Central Jakarta on Saturday (2/5/2026). Brian also called on students and university students not to dream big. He asked them to continue learning, asking questions, trying, and creating because Indonesia’s future is built through character, knowledge, cooperation and collaboration, as well as courage. Meanwhile, he expressed appreciation to teachers, lecturers, education personnel, and researchers for their services in enlightening the nation’s children. In essence, said Brian, education gives birth to humans who are aware that knowledge is a trust and every piece of knowledge possessed must be accounted for, not only to fellow creatures, but also to God. “Let us join hands to strengthen universal participation and bring about quality education that is inclusive, relevant, and impactful for all,” said Brian. “Because from every learning space, from school to higher education, we are determining the direction of Indonesia’s future,” he added.
