Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions (Mendes PDT) Yandri Susanto has stated that his ministry is preparing affirmative assistance to develop tourism village sites integrated with coastal areas in Banten Province. The statement was made by Yandri during the peak event of the Exciting Banten Festival 2026 at Cibeureum 1 Beach, Anyer District, Serang Regency, on Sunday. “We have a tourism village programme, and God willing, for villages that intersect with tourism areas such as Anyer, Cinangka, Padarincang, Mancak, Ciomas, up to Pandeglang, there will be affirmative assistance from the Ministry of Villages PDT,” said Yandri. According to Yandri, this step aims to ensure that visiting tourists do not only enjoy the beauty of the coastline but also have a variety of options such as village culinary tourism, natural scenery, and cultural tourism. “So that people from Jakarta are no longer solely going to Puncak or Bali. Banten, from Anyer, Cinangka, to Carita in Pandeglang can become a promising destination because tourists have many agenda options to stay for two to three days,” he explained. However, the Minister of Villages PDT stressed that this success requires a collaborative commitment from all parties regarding service standardisation. This includes hospitality, hotel cleanliness, and price certainty, so that tourists receive excellent comfort. Meanwhile, Serang Regent Ratu Rachmatuzakiyah welcomed the support from the central and provincial governments. She affirmed the Serang Regency Government’s commitment to collaborating to maximise the tourism potential in its region. “So that tourism in the Serang Regency area becomes better and increasingly missed by tourists. The hope is that they will not only visit once, but can visit repeatedly, just like when travelling to Bali,” said Zakiyah. The Exciting Banten Festival 2026 tourism promotion event, organised by the Banten Provincial Government on 27–28 June 2026, involved various elements. The festivities were supported by the presence of 40 stalls featuring creative economy and MSME flagship products, as well as 22 public service stalls from various agencies.
