'Mencari Pelangi' sweeps awards at Festival Sinetron

JAKARTA (JP): The television drama Mencari Pelangi surprisingly swept seven awards, beating comedy serial Mat Angin, which only managed to grab six awards at the Festival Sinetron Indonesia on Sunday.

Mencari Pelangi, a drama produced by PT Iguana Imagi Media and aired on ANteve, won the Vidia Utama trophy -- presented by the Ministry of Information's Director General for Radio, Television and Film Aziz Hussein -- given to the best teleseries (miniseries and melodramas) of the year.

In his speech, Aziz urged those in the teleseries industry to improve quality in the face of stiff competition from foreign productions.
