Member of Serang City Regional Parliament Allegedly Harassed Woman, Police Investigating

A woman from Pandeglang Regency with initials NW, aged 40, has reported being a victim of sexual harassment allegedly committed by a member of Serang City’s Regional Parliament (DPRD).

“The alleged perpetrator is a member of Serang City’s Regional Parliament,” stated the victim’s family representative, Hermawan, on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

The harassment incident began when the victim and the alleged perpetrator were discussing rental fees for the kitchen used in the Free Nutritious Meals (Makan Bergizi Gratis) programme. Following that discussion, the alleged perpetrator suddenly engaged in sexual harassment.

“After discussing the kitchen rental fees, the alleged perpetrator committed sexual harassment against the victim,” Hermawan said.

Hermawan has reported the incident to the police and hopes the case will be thoroughly investigated.

“We have already filed a report with Pandeglang Police Station,” he stated.

Kanit PPA Satreskrim of Pandeglang Police Station, Ipda Widianto, confirmed that the report from the victim’s family has been received. He stated that an investigation is underway.

“We have received the report. We are currently conducting an investigation,” said Widianto.

According to the report filed, the alleged perpetrator is a member of Serang City’s Regional Parliament. Widianto assured that questioning of the alleged perpetrator would be carried out.

“It will definitely happen,” he said.
