Palangka Raya – Sigit Karyawan Yunianto, a member of Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), has called on PT PLN (Persero) to maintain the reliability of electricity supply during the holy month of Ramadan 2026 and through Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

The legislator, commonly known as SKY, emphasised the importance of preparedness of the national electricity system to support the smooth conduct of worship and community activities throughout Indonesia, particularly in his electoral district of Central Kalimantan (Kalteng), which frequently faces energy access challenges.

“PT PLN must ensure that electricity supply remains stable and uninterrupted during the period from Ramadan through Eid al-Fitr. This is crucial so that Muslims can perform their worship peacefully, including evening prayers (Tarawih), Quranic recitation (tadarus), and Eid celebrations,” he stated.

He made these remarks whilst being interviewed regarding the Third Session Recess of 2025-2026 at the Ketapang Subdistrict Office in Mentawa Baru Ketapang District, East Kotawaringin Regency, Central Kalimantan.

“Therefore, PLN must continue to strengthen infrastructure maintenance, deploy emergency response posts, and increase field personnel to anticipate potential disruptions,” he added.

He further noted that the reliability of electricity supply not only supports religious observance but also maintains economic stability for households and small businesses during the Ramadan period, which is characterised by increased consumption.

Sigit, who actively advocates for energy and electricity issues within Commission XII of the House of Representatives, stated his readiness to follow up on community aspirations through coordination with relevant ministries and PLN.

He hopes that these efforts will support the government’s target of expanding equitable electricity access and achieving national energy self-sufficiency, further strengthening PLN’s commitment to delivering excellent service to the public.
