Member of DPR RI's Commission VIII deems Makassar Embarkation worthy of being an example
Services for Hajj pilgrims must be carried out to the maximum extent, including facility standards at embarkation points that are deemed at least equivalent to a three-star hotel so that pilgrims can rest comfortably before undertaking the long journey to Saudi Arabia.
Makassar (ANTARA) - Sri Wulan, a member of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), has appreciated the services provided by the Makassar Embarkation in South Sulawesi to prospective Hajj pilgrims (JCH) and deems it worthy of becoming a national example.
“Our visit here was very enjoyable. We could see how they receive the pilgrims, the readiness of the officers, the facilities and other infrastructure,” she said during a visit to the Makassar Hajj Dormitory in Makassar on Wednesday.
Sri Wulan inspected the service activities for the combined JCH batch from Bone Regency, Maros, Jeneponto, Makassar City, as well as Papua Province, who had just entered the Hajj dormitory accommodation.
According to her, the services provided to prospective Hajj pilgrims are already very good and worthy of being an example for other embarkation points in Indonesia.
Sri Wulan stated that her side also directly inspected the room conditions, health facilities, and met with several prospective Hajj pilgrims who were preparing to depart for the Holy Land.
“We have already checked the rooms and other facilities such as health facilities. Then the rooms are also fine; earlier we also met with prospective pilgrims. The facilities provided are extraordinary,” she said.
According to Sri Wulan, services for Hajj pilgrims must be carried out to the maximum, including facility standards at embarkation points that are deemed at least equivalent to a three-star hotel so that pilgrims can rest comfortably before undertaking the long journey to Saudi Arabia.
“This must indeed be made an example that services for Hajj pilgrims must be maximal, where embarkation points are at least equivalent to a three-star hotel. So pilgrims also feel comfortable,” she explained.
She explained that such comfort is important considering that pilgrims must undertake a long journey from their home regions to Makassar before continuing with a flight of around 10 hours to Saudi Arabia.
In addition to accommodation facilities, Sri Wulan also appreciated the catering services for pilgrims, including special attention for elderly pilgrims (lansia).
“Earlier it was also conveyed that there are special foods for the elderly, then regular meals are separate, and pilgrims receive three meals. This means that food at the embarkation is guaranteed,” she said.
She assured that so far no significant obstacles have been found in the services at the Makassar Embarkation.
“Alhamdulillah, there are no obstacles. This is one of the embarkations with a rating of eight,” she said.
