Mekari rolls out new point-of-sale technology for the F&B and retail sectors
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Mekari, a Software as a Service (SaaS) company, has launched Mekari POS as a modern point-of-sales technology designed specifically for the food and beverage (F&B) and retail sectors, with features that can be tailored to the needs of each industry.
CEO Suwandi Soh said Mekari POS presents a different approach compared to other players in the market, namely that the point of sales is no longer just a cash register, but a central platform for daily operational control that becomes the main reference for business decision-making.
“After years of supporting tens of thousands of businesses in Indonesia, we have found a consistent pattern that is rarely openly acknowledged,” said Suwandi Soh in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
He noted that the growth of retail and F&B businesses is not determined by the number of customers on opening day, but by the resilience and orderliness of operations behind the business.
“Many great businesses in Indonesia stop at the second or third outlet, not because they run out of customers, but because they lose control of their own data,” he said.
“Mekari POS is designed to address this most fundamental issue. After all, an entrepreneur should not expand merely with courage. They have the right to expand with data-based confidence,” said Suwandi Soh.
He explained that Mekari POS is designed to focus on providing real-time operational control to business owners.
Through the “Multi-Branch Management” feature in a single central dashboard, owners can monitor the movements of the entire network of outlets from one location.
According to him, this approach represents a shift from “managing by report” or managing based on previous reports to “managing by signal,” i.e., managing based on current signals and data.
In addition, Mekari POS is integrated with various services in the Mekari ecosystem, including Mekari Jurnal for financial and accounting reporting, Mekari Desty for omnichannel marketplace operations, Mekari Talenta for workforce management, and Mekari Klikpajak for tax compliance.
The integration enables automatic synchronisation of sales and inventory data, reducing manual reconciliation processes that have long consumed the finance team’s time.
The company regards the Mekari POS launch as a new step in completing the front-end operational ecosystem, which has long been seen as a weakness in the scalability process in Indonesia.
Mekari also notes that the Mekari POS system is built to international security standard ISO 27001 and complies with Indonesian local regulations to safeguard transaction data and business information amid rising cyber threats.
