Mekaar InspirAksi: PNM Customers and Employees Collaborate to Expand Empowerment Impact
Behind every small business run by an underprivileged woman, there is always a hope worth fighting for. A hope that the kitchen keeps cooking, that children can continue their schooling, and a dream of a better life.
That hope is what PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (Persero) has been nurturing through the Mekaar InspirAksi programme.
Mekaar InspirAksi serves as a collaborative space for PNM customers and Account Officers (AO) to prove that big changes can begin with simple steps taken together.
The programme combines inspiration with real action through intensive mentoring, business innovation, and capacity building so that customers can move up the ladder sustainably, with a focus on Environment, Sustainability, and Governance (ESG) aspects.
In this programme, AOs do not only act as empowerment mentors but also as learning partners who jointly explore potential, find solutions, and implement business development ideas.
This approach is the main strength of Mekaar InspirAksi, because empowerment is not merely about providing capital, but about building self-confidence and the courage to keep growing.
Various innovations have emerged from different regions across Indonesia. Each idea carries a story about the perseverance of mothers who keep finding ways to make their businesses more productive, competitive, and able to open wider economic opportunities for their families.
PNM President Director Kindaris said that true empowerment does not stop when financing is provided. According to him, real change only occurs when someone begins to believe in their own ability to keep developing.
“Empowered families are not born simply because they gain access to capital, but because they have the opportunity to keep learning, innovating, and being mentored until they are able to stand stronger,” he said in a statement on Friday (21/8/2026).
Together with Danantara, Kindaris said, PNM wants to expand that opportunity so that more underprivileged families are not just surviving, but truly growing and able to change their family’s future.
He added that Mekaar InspirAksi reflects PNM’s new empowerment philosophy, namely building an ecosystem that brings together experience, the spirit of mutual cooperation, and the courage to try new things.
“Success is not measured by who wins a competition. True success is when a mother goes home with a new conviction that her business can grow, her children have a better future, and hopes that once felt distant are now within reach,” he added.
The Mekaar InspirAksi programme also strengthens collaboration between customers and employees, improves business innovation, productivity, and welfare, and encourages more customers to move up the ladder.
At the same time, PNM AOs also develop their competencies, leadership, and the quality of their mentoring to the community.
The empowerment carried out by PNM is not only about increasing income, but about building a more inclusive future. Together with Danantara, PNM continues to expand the reach of its impact, ensuring that every underprivileged woman has the same opportunity to grow, inspire, and become an agent of change for her family and the surrounding community.
