Mehrabad Airport in Tehran Set Ablaze After Air Strike
State media reported that air strikes hit Iran’s capital, Tehran, early Saturday. One strike targeted an airport in Tehran. According to CNN, on Saturday 7 March 2026, a video circulating on social media and traced by CNN shows Mehrabad Airport in Tehran on fire after the attack. The Iranian state television channel reported that explosions were heard and smoke was seen in the eastern and western parts of Tehran. Earlier, the Israeli military announced that it was conducting a new wave of attacks on Tehran, describing the strikes as large-scale. Meanwhile, Iran also launched an attack on Tel Aviv, according to Fars News Agency. CNN’s correspondents in Tel Aviv witnessed explosions in the sky. And in Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Defence said four drones were recently intercepted and destroyed as they headed toward the Shaybah oil field.
