JAKARTA - State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has stated that there is no information yet regarding plans for Indonesia’s fifth president, Megawati Soekarnoputri, to attend the open house held by President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Saturday (21/3/2026).

“For the time being, there is no information for today,” said Prasetyo Hadi.

“A lot is being discussed, exchanging views. After all, Ibu Mega has previously served as vice president and president, so she has a wealth of experience,” he added.

He further noted that each era of leadership faces different challenges. However, sharing experiences among leaders is considered important for the nation’s advancement.

“Each period has its own different challenges. But as a leader, it is very good to exchange input and share experiences for the progress of the nation and country,” said Prasetyo.

Furthermore, he mentioned that the president will tour to greet the public attending at the palace.

The government is not imposing strict limits on the number of visitors. The palace is providing opportunities for the public who wish to attend voluntarily.

“The estimated total is around 4,000 to 5,000 people. We are not limiting or organising it like other state events, for example, the 17 August commemoration. As long as it is feasible, the public is welcome to enter the Merdeka Palace grounds,” he stated.

“He does not want to cause any inconvenience because there might be family agendas or events. So this afternoon is specifically open to the general public,” Prasetyo explained.
