Megawati to open Borobudur festival

MAGELANG, Central Java: President Megawati Soekarnoputri is
expected to open the Borobudur International Festival 2003,
scheduled for June 11 to June 17.

Central Java tourism office head Hengky Hermantoro said on
Wednesday that representatives from at least 13 countries would
participate in the festival, marking the 20th anniversary of the
renovation of the Borobudur Temple.

He said the festival's main theme was: The Balance in
Conservation of Natural Culture and Social Development.

In an attempt to promote peace in Indonesia, he suggested that
leaders of five religions would go on stage and pray together. --
