Megawati to Attend Eid al-Fitr Open House at PDIP Central Office

The head of the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Social Insurance division, Charles Honoris, has announced that the party will hold an Eid al-Fitr 2026 open house celebration at the party’s central office in Menteng, Central Jakarta. The event will be attended by PDIP chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri.

“This year the open house will be at the party central office, not at a residence, but at the party office. It appears, it appears she will attend at the party office,” Charles Honoris said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (17 March 2026), when asked about the possibility of Megawati’s attendance.

Charles explained that the PDIP central office was chosen because the venue is larger and allows the party to invite more guests. The deputy chair of Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives said the open house would take place on 21 March.

“There’s no particular reason; we also think the central office is a bigger place. We can invite more people. I don’t think there’s any particular reason for the chairwoman to celebrate or hold an open house at the central office,” Charles said.

“On the first day, 21 March,” he added.

Charles stated that there has been no official announcement regarding the open house yet. However, he mentioned that the party’s central leadership has been informed about the schedule for the open house event.

“There hasn’t been an official announcement yet, but since the central office has been informed that there will be an open house at the office during the day—at around 11 o’clock if I’m not mistaken—along with the chairwoman,” he added.
