Megawati Tells Prabowo Free Nutritious Meal Menu Is 'Same Old', Suggests Adding Rendang

PDI-P Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri revealed she once provided input to President Prabowo Subianto regarding the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. Megawati requested that the MBG menu be made more diverse. She conveyed this during the ‘Expose of the Second State Foundation Archive Manuscript’ event held by the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP). Megawati initially noted the presence of many women in the audience. She then spoke about the importance of the parental role in monitoring children’s growth and development, highlighting the prevalence of child bullying. Megawati subsequently addressed the MBG programme, stating that she and Prabowo have been friends for a long time. ‘I said to Mr Prabowo regarding the MBG, I spoke as a mother. I have been friends with him for ages. “Mas, the food I see is just the same old thing. Our regions are diverse, why not have rendang once in a while?” He laughed,’ she recounted. Megawati said the MBG menu should be more varied and urged people not to be afraid to speak up.
