Megawati Receives Ambassadors from Iran to Palestine During Eid Gathering

Several ambassadors attended the halal bihalal event with Indonesia’s fifth president, Megawati Soekarnoputri, at the PDI-P central executive board building on Jalan Diponegoro, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (21/3). The attending ambassadors were from the United Kingdom, Iran, Palestine, and the Deputy Ambassador of Russia. PDI-P central executive board General Secretary Hasto Kristiyanto stated that the ambassadors appeared to converse amiably with Megawati. “The ambassadors spoke closely with Mrs Megawati, conveying various geopolitical issues as well as matters related to global warming,” Hasto said, quoted from Antara. Hasto explained that Megawati’s discussions with the ambassadors did not stop there. They agreed to follow up the geopolitical conversations in a more academic forum, involving the Megawati Institute. The PDI-P halal bihalal was held at Building B of the PDI-P central executive board, which is also the headquarters of the PDI-P National Cultural Board (BKN). The reason for choosing Building B as the venue was its larger space and strong Nusantara cultural atmosphere. “At the same time, Mrs Mega was present at the Cultural Board. Gamelan and several musical instruments were also performed; the room is indeed larger and more practical for this halal bihalal momentum,” Hasto said.
