Megawati Prays for Those Who Are Envious and Spiteful to Be Granted Enlightenment

Jakarta - Fifth President of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri offered special prayers while performing umrah with her family. Among them was a prayer asking to be kept away from slander and envious people.

The prayer was delivered by Megawati during the tawaf procession at the Grand Mosque (Masjidil Haram) in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday afternoon (14/2/2026) local time. The prayer recitation was led by the Indonesian Ambassador to Tunisia who also serves as the (non-active) Head of PDIP’s Central Board for Religious Affairs, Zuhairi Misrawi.

“If there are people who are envious and spiteful, illuminate the souls and minds of those spiteful people with the truth about our mother,” Zuhairi said while leading the prayer for Megawati’s family umrah group.

Accompanying her were Megawati’s son and daughter, M Prananda Prabowo with his wife Nancy Prananda, and Puan Maharani. Also present were Indonesian Consul General in Jeddah Yusron B Ambary and PDIP Central Board Head for Foreign Affairs Ahmad Basarah.

Megawati prayed for protection from slander and evildoers. She also expressed hope that those who harbor negative feelings or attitudes would have their hearts and minds opened.

“O Allah, keep our beloved mother, Prof. Dr. Megawati Soekarnoputri, away from all irresponsible slander. Protect her from all calamities. If there are evildoers, block all their malicious intentions and actions against our beloved mother,” Zuhairi recited, followed by the umrah group.

Additionally, Zuhairi also prayed that Megawati would always be granted the ability to lead the party and safeguard the Pancasila ideology.

“Bestow upon her spiritual strength so that she may safeguard the Pancasila ideology, strengthen her mind so that she does not err in making decisions, illuminate her soul with the light of knowledge that You send down from the heavens so that she always demonstrates her wisdom,” Zuhairi added.
