Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo inaugurated Bendera Pusaka Park in South Jakarta, which is a combination of Taman Ayodya, Taman Langsat and Taman Leuser.

“The presence of Bendera Pusaka Park is part of the Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to increasing modern, inclusive, and family-friendly open green spaces,” said Pramono when met at Bendera Pusaka Park on Saturday (14 March).

The park inauguration was also attended by Indonesia’s fifth President Megawati Soekarnoputri.

In his remarks before Megawati, Pramono reported that under his leadership with Rano Karno, new parks will be built in the capital. Furthermore, Pramono permitted private parties to assist in building public facilities in Jakarta. Subsequently, these public facilities could also be named according to the party that helped build them.

“In this way, green open spaces in Jakarta are now growing rapidly. In fact, in the near future, I will inaugurate approximately 23 to 25 new green spaces because cooperation is permitted,” Pramono explained.

He added that the main purpose of merging these three parks is to create open green space and recreational facilities in Jakarta. Additionally, the park merger aims to provide opportunities for Jakarta residents to use the space for sports activities.

“Alhamdulillah, Bendera Pusaka Park can be immediately utilised by the community and there are also tennis courts, multipurpose fields, and padel courts here,” said Pramono.
