Megawati and Pramono Attend Bung Karno Festival at Proclamation Park

Indonesia’s 5th President Megawati Soekarnoputri attended the Bung Karno Festival at Proclamation Park in Central Jakarta. The event was also attended by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung.

Megawati wore a red batik shirt with a black vest bearing the words ‘Festival Bung Karno’. Pramono was seen wearing a matching vest. Also present were Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno, Jakarta Regional Secretary Uus Kuswanto, and other officials from the Jakarta Provincial Government.

Megawati and Pramono greeted visitors to Proclamation Park. Several regional dances were performed at the festival’s opening ceremony.

The Bung Karno Festival is an annual series of events to commemorate ‘Bung Karno Month’, which falls in June. The event is held to honour the services of the Proclamator and to celebrate national values. Various activities are held to enliven the festival.
