Megawati and Gibran Accompany Prabowo at Pancasila Day Ceremony
Former fifth Indonesian President and BPIP Advisory Council member Megawati Sukarnoputri, alongside Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, attended the Pancasila Day ceremony alongside President Prabowo Subianto on Monday, June 1. Megawati entered the ceremony grounds in front of the Foreign Ministry’s Pancasila Building alongside Prabowo and Gibran. Wearing a long red skirt and red samping, Megawati walked behind Prabowo towards the ceremony site, with Gibran following behind Prabowo beside Megawati. Prabowo and Gibran appeared in coordinated attire, wearing black-grey and jet-black suits with peci caps. Subsequently, Megawati took her seat, positioned next to former tenth and twelfth Vice President Jusuf Kalla. Prabowo served as the ceremony’s inspector-in-chief, with Colonel Inf Didin Nasruddin Darsono acting as parade commander. Pancasila Day is observed annually on June 1, commemorating President Sukarno’s 1945 speech to the BPUPKI where he introduced the nation’s foundational philosophy. Other attendees included members of the Red and White Cabinet, such as Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, and Coordinating Minister for Legal Affairs Yusril Ihza Mahendra.
