Mega to attend ASEAN summit

JAKARTA: President Megawati Soekarnoputri will attend an
Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in Brunei
Darussalam next month, State/Cabinet Secretary Bambang Kesowo
said on Thursday.

Megawati will leave Jakarta for Brunei on Nov. 4 and return on
Nov. 6, Bambang said.

He also explained that a number of distinguished guests would
visit Indonesia, namely Chinese Prime Minister Zhu Rongji from
Nov. 7 to 10, Vietnamese Prime Minister Van Phan Kai from Nov. 10
to 12 and Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo from Nov.
12 to 13. --JP
