Mega criticizes SBY over fuel shortages

CIREBON, West Java: Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle
(PDI-P) leader Megawati Soekarnoputri has criticized the
administration's response to the ongoing fuel shortages.

Speaking at the opening of a party conference here on
Saturday, she described the shortages as a "fuel crisis" that
created a hardship for the people.

The former president, who was defeated in last year's
presidential election by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, said it was
the government's responsibility to resolve the fuel crisis.

She reminded her listeners that Susilo promised during the
election campaign to ensure the availability of fuel for the
people.

The PDI-P is the main opposition group in the House of
