The Indonesian Muslim Women’s Entrepreneurs Association (Ipemi) has expressed its readiness to become a strategic partner to the government in promoting the strengthening of the people’s economy. This commitment was conveyed directly during an audience with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka at the Vice Presidential Palace on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

Ipemi General Chair Ingrid Kansil stated that her organisation’s network, spread across various regions, can serve as a bridge between government policies and their implementation on the ground.

Ingrid said that Ipemi is ready to support the government’s policy direction, particularly in empowering women-led UMKM. “As an organisation focused on strengthening Muslim women entrepreneurs, Ipemi is ready to be a strategic partner to the Government in strengthening the people’s economy, especially through the development of women-led UMKM,” Ingrid said in a written statement.

According to Ingrid, Ipemi’s role extends beyond that of an organisation; it also acts as a driver of community-based economy that reaches down to the grassroots level.

During the meeting, Ingrid conveyed several key needs of women UMKM actors. First, access to government programmes that is more equitable and targeted. Second, strengthening mentorship through training in digitalisation, exports, branding, and business management.

Third, ease of access to inclusive financing that suits the characteristics of women-led UMKM. Fourth, regulations that support business sustainability. “Policies that support the growth and sustainability of UMKM businesses,” said Ingrid.

To strengthen collaboration, Ipemi also proposed three concrete steps. First, developing joint programmes such as training, business incubation, and UMKM digitalisation. Second, strengthening synergy with ministries and institutions. Third, designating Ipemi as the official channel for empowering women-led UMKM.

Ingrid emphasised that Ipemi is ready to oversee the implementation of government programmes to reach the wider community. “This audience is expected to be the beginning of sustainable cooperation that has a real impact on strengthening the national economy,” said Ingrid.

In response, Gibran expressed his commitment to expanding access to capital and marketing for UMKM actors. These efforts will be carried out through the optimisation of various schemes, including CSR, incubation programmes, and other strategic initiatives to encourage business growth and independence.
