Meeting with PalmCo Boss, Dony Requests Export Strengthening via This Strategy

The Head of BP BUMN and also COO of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, has summoned the President Director of PalmCo, Jatmiko Santosa, to discuss transformation strategies within the plantation-focused company.

During the meeting, Dony requested that PalmCo’s transformation enable it to become a global player in the palm oil industry.

“A major leap for me is how we manage PalmCo. Firstly, the government, and specifically through Danantara, wants all companies under Danantara to serve as benchmarks for others, particularly private companies, given the capacity we possess,” he stated, as quoted from Instagram on Tuesday (1/9/2026).

According to him, PalmCo, which has successfully met domestic palm oil requirements, can transform by expanding its business wings onto the global stage. PalmCo is determined to increase its export capacity through several strategies.

“In my view, PalmCo is the one we are counting on. We have clearly demonstrated our future roadmap. Previously, we were predominantly focused on the domestic market. Now, we want to penetrate exports using the surplus from the Domestic Market Obligation (DMO) that we possess,” he explained.

Dony detailed that one of PalmCo’s strategic steps is to develop refineries or oil processing facilities abroad. This move is intended to reduce costs and compete head-to-head with international competitors.

“In the future, we want to build refineries overseas. This way, we can become a provider of refined palm oil,” he concluded.
