Indonesia’s Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Muhammad Tito Karnavian, outlined various strategic performance achievements of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) for the first quarter of 2026. One of the key strategic achievements presented was the successful organisation of the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) between the Central Government and Regional Governments in February 2026.

The forum served as a momentum to strengthen synergy between the centre and regions in supporting the President’s priority programmes. The event was attended by thousands of participants from various elements of the central and regional governments. In addition, Kemendagri has actively supported the acceleration of rehabilitation and reconstruction in the post-disaster areas of Sumatra.

This support includes the establishment of the Secretariat of the Task Force for Accelerating Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (Satgas PRR) Post-Sumatra Disaster, guidance and supervision of the use of regional budget assistance for affected areas, and population administration services through the outreach programme for affected communities.

Furthermore, Tito stated that the ministry has also deployed trainees from the Institute of Domestic Government (IPDN) as well as Civil Servants (ASN) from Kemendagri in several waves to the disaster-affected areas. This step was taken as an effort to accelerate recovery in the affected regions.

In efforts to strengthen governance, Kemendagri has provided guidance to regional heads. This includes efforts to maintain the stability of basic commodity prices ahead of major religious holidays and to ensure that regional conditions remain conducive at the start of the year.

Kemendagri also regulated overseas travel for regional heads during Eid to ensure that public services remain optimal.

“We issued a circular for the postponement of overseas travel for regional heads 7 days before and 7 days after the holiday,” said Tito, in a written statement on Monday (30/3/2026).

He conveyed this during the Working Meeting and Hearing with Commission II of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (30/3).

In the field of population administration, significant achievements have also been demonstrated through the e-KTP recording rate, which has reached 97.64%.

In addition, the matching of the National Single Social and Economic Data (DTSEN) with population data has reached 98.68%, indicating an improvement in the accuracy of national data.

Furthermore, Tito emphasised the strategic role of Kemendagri in supporting President RI Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes in the regions.

This support includes overseeing regional economic growth, controlling inflation, and implementing the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme.

“Then, inflation control is carried out through weekly meetings and also field measures in areas with high inflation,” explained Tito.

Kemendagri also supports other strategic programmes such as the construction of 3 Million Houses, the Red and White Village/Urban Ward Cooperative (KDKMP), and waste management by converting it into electrical energy, as well as the Indonesia ASRI Movement policy (Safe, Healthy, Clean, Beautiful). Kemendagri also supports the development of People’s Schools in the regions.

On that occasion, Tito also reported that the budget realisation of Kemendagri up to Sunday (29/3) has reached Rp 1.005 trillion or 12.85% of the total budget allocation of Rp 7.82 trillion.

For information, the forum was also attended by Deputy Minister of Home Affairs RI (Wamendagri) Ribka Haluk, Wamendagri Bima Arya Sugiarto, Wamendagri Akhmad Wiyagus, Secretary General (Sekjen) of Kemendagri Tomsi Tohir, and other Kemendagri officials. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of Commission II of DPR RI, Muhammad Rifqinizamy Karsayuda.
