National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo led a cross-sectoral coordination meeting with cabinet ministers and heads of state institutions on Tuesday (28/4). The meeting was attended by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Chair of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Friderica Widyasari Dewi, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and Pertamina. In the closed meeting, Sigit stated that one of the main topics was the global situation and escalation and its impact on Indonesia. “We are conducting a coordination meeting to discuss issues that we must certainly follow regarding the impact of global escalation, which of course also affects the domestic situation,” he told reporters, quoted on Wednesday (29/4). Sigit said the coordination meeting was held to ensure that all work programmes of the Prabowo-Gibran government continue to run smoothly amid ongoing global conflicts. “This is certainly important and strategic for us to jointly maintain what is currently being implemented by the Indonesian government,” he said. He added that the National Police and all relevant stakeholders are fully committed to promoting the economic growth of Indonesian society. Therefore, Sigit said the National Police will prepare mitigation measures against all forms of impact or risks arising from global escalation. “With the picture we have obtained, we certainly have a picture to then carry out mitigation against various issues ahead,” he said. Finally, he emphasised that the Bhayangkara Corps will continue to escort and maintain all policies issued for the good of Indonesian society. “However, we remain vigilant against the existing escalation so that all achievements that have been implemented and run by this government can continue to be maintained,” he said.
