The Buol Regency Government (Pemkab) in Central Sulawesi (Sulteng) has stated that eight Nutrition Fulfilment Service Units (SPPG) in the area will resume operations to meet the nutritional needs of students and the 3B group—breastfeeding mothers, pregnant women, and toddlers—through the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Programme. “The SPPG operations are planned to resume on Monday (18/5) following the fulfilment of most administrative requirements, hygiene and sanitation, and hygiene fitness permits,” said Assistant for Economy and Development of Buol Regency, Syarif Pusadan, in Leok II on Thursday. He emphasised the importance of local government oversight through the Health Office in all stages of SPPG operations. “This oversight covers from the receipt of food ingredients, processing, to the distribution of nutritious meals to the beneficiaries,” he stated. “It is hoped that the MBG Programme in Buol can run optimally to support improvements in health, nutrition, and the quality of the young generation in the area,” he added. Syarif mentioned the need for strengthened cross-sectoral coordination between environmental oversight, food supply stability, and the involvement of local business actors in supporting the daily operational needs of SPPG. It is known that the eight SPPG units in Buol Regency were temporarily suspended due to not meeting the Wastewater Treatment Installation (IPAL) standards. The eight temporarily closed MBG kitchens are: SPPG Buol Biau Kali, SPPG Buol Karamat Busak I, SPPG Buol Biau Buol, SPPG Buol Bokat Doulan, SPPG Buol Biau Kulango, SPPG Buol Biau Leok II 2, SPPG Buol Biau Leok II, and SPPG Buol Bokat Bongo.
