Meeting Macron in France, Prabowo to Explain Indonesia's Position on the World Stage
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is said to convey Indonesia’s position in maintaining stability and promoting world peace during his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris.
“In that meeting, the President will not only strengthen cooperation with the French Government but also convey Indonesia’s position in maintaining stability and promoting world peace,” stated Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya in his remarks on Tuesday (14/4/2026).
He explained that the meeting also serves as an important momentum for Indonesia to present its strategic views regarding global dynamics.
Teddy said that Prabowo is scheduled to continue his strategic diplomatic agenda through a one-on-one meeting with Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.
“Tomorrow, the President will hold a one-on-one meeting with President Macron at the Élysée Palace to discuss enhancing strategic cooperation between the two countries,” he added.
Prabowo has discussed the geopolitical situation with Putin. Prabowo views Russia as the right partner.
“We feel it is very necessary to consult on how we face the situation ahead, especially if we can continue to strengthen cooperation, particularly in the economic and energy sectors,” Prabowo told Putin at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow on Monday (13/4/2026) local time, quoted from the statement of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom).
In addition to foreign policy matters, Prabowo also discussed energy and mineral resources.
