Jakarta, VIVA – The parent holding of state-owned surveying services, IDSurvey, PT Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (Persero) or BKI, has obtained a Statement of Compliance (SoC) for its quality management system after successfully completing an audit by SGS China on 26 December 2025.

“This recognition is given as evidence that BKI has met the international standards set by the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) in providing classification and statutory services,” said BKI Management in its statement on Friday, 17 April 2026.

The Statement of Compliance (SoC) is an official declaration of an organisation’s compliance with applicable operational standards. For BKI, this SoC was obtained after the company was deemed to have completed a comprehensive audit of its quality management system in accordance with the International Association of Classification Societies Quality System Certification Scheme (IACS QSCS).

The audit included examinations of the implementation of the quality management system at the head office and branch offices (Office Audit), as well as assessments of service execution on specific projects from start to finish (Vertical Contract Audit/VCA), to ensure the consistency and reliability of services.

The audit process was conducted by SGS China, an accredited and IACS-recognised certification body, which confirmed that BKI’s quality management system meets globally established requirements.

The scope of the IACS QSCS certification covers technical assessments and supervision of ships and mobile offshore installations to ensure their safety and operational seaworthiness. These services are provided for both newly built ships (new building) and those already in operation (in service).

In addition, BKI also carries out certain duties on behalf of flag administrations, assisting the government in ensuring that ships comply with applicable international safety and shipping regulations. This certification ensures that all BKI service processes are carried out consistently, measurably, and with a priority on safety.

“This achievement of the SoC reflects BKI’s commitment to maintaining service quality and strengthening internal oversight systems, in line with the increasing demands for shipping safety and maritime environmental protection,” said BKI Management.

This international recognition also reinforces BKI’s steps to strengthen its position at the global level and support the process towards IACS membership. Through the implementation of internationally recognised quality standards, BKI affirms its seriousness in playing a more active role in supporting the safety, reliability, and progress of the national maritime industry.
