Meeting Interfaith Leaders in NTB, Kaesang Receives This Message
Lombok, VIVA - Chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), Kaesang Pangarep, met with interfaith leaders and community figures in the City of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on Saturday, 2 May 2026.
The meeting, held at the residence of NTB Hindu leader Guru Mangku Gede Wenten, provided a forum for local leaders to express hopes that political practices should not divide society.
Guru Mangku Gede Wenten emphasised the importance of the presence of national leaders amid interfaith communities, especially in areas with high levels of diversity such as NTB.
“There are leaders from all religions in NTB here. I am very proud; welcome to our humble abode, Mas Kaesang. Please forgive us if the conditions are simple,” he said.
In addition to dialogue, the Elephant Party Chairman also received a souvenir in the form of characteristic Lombok pearls, which symbolise local wisdom while reflecting the values of unity in diversity.
Kaesang admitted he did not expect the high enthusiasm of the community in the simakrama or silaturahmi event.
“We respect the elders present this afternoon; thank you for taking the time. Although the weather is quite hot, I see the enthusiasm is very good,” said Kaesang.
Also attending the event were NTB Governor Lalu Muhammad Iqbal, PSI Deputy Chairman Isyana Bagoes Oka, and NTB PSI Provincial Chairman Lalu Budi Suryata.
In addition to the interfaith agenda, Kaesang is also scheduled to attend a regional coordination meeting for PSI across NTB as part of the party’s internal consolidation.
