Meeting Chery's Smart Robot, Ready to Assist Police in Enforcing Traffic Violations
Innovation in the automotive industry goes beyond electric vehicles or autonomous driving features. At the Beijing Auto Show 2026, Chery, through its Omoda & Jaecoo brand, showcased a smart robot specifically designed to assist police duties in regulating traffic.
The robot, named AiMOGA Smart Police Robot, was displayed at the Omoda Jaecoo booth as a solution to various urban traffic problems, from congestion to road violations.
The presence of this robot is intended to address the limitations of the number of field officers, particularly in conducting comprehensive 24-hour surveillance. Additionally, issues such as non-motor vehicle violations and illegal parking are among the main focuses to be tackled.
Its route planning system has adopted automotive standards, complete with automatic obstacle avoidance features. The robot also uses a Beidou-based navigation system designed to adapt to various situations.
From the law enforcement perspective, AiMOGA has visual algorithm-based violation detection capabilities developed independently. This system enables the robot to accurately identify traffic violations.
Interestingly, the robot can operate 24 hours non-stop with quick responses and minimal error risks. All violation data is also stored integrally through a cloud system, allowing it to be traced back if needed.
Another capability is integration with traffic light systems. The AiMOGA Smart Police Robot can connect to signal controls in real-time with millisecond synchronisation. In fact, the robot can mimic standard traffic police movements when directing vehicles at intersections.
With collaboration between vehicles, road infrastructure, and robots, this system is expected to improve traffic flow efficiency in large cities.
No less interesting, AiMOGA is equipped with artificial intelligence technology based on large language models (LLM). This system has an extensive traffic rules database and can interact using human-like voice.
Thanks to this AI technology, the robot can also answer user questions in various languages, including Indonesian, making it easier to use in different situations.
With these various capabilities, the presence of the AiMOGA Smart Police Robot illustrates how future technology can directly contribute to assisting police tasks, while creating a more orderly and efficient traffic system.
