Meet Reymon, President Prabowo's Giant Sacrificial Cow for Depok Residents
At the edge of the Lembu Mulyo Farm Sacrificial Cattle Stall in Tapos District, Depok City, a giant cow stands proudly among other pens. Its muscular frame commands attention from passersby.
Named Reymon, the Simmental Cross Limousin breed is a sacrificial animal donated by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to Depok residents for Eid al-Adha 2026 on Wednesday, 27 May 2026.
Reymon weighs a substantial 1,048 kilograms – over a tonne.
Standing in its pen, Reymon appears sturdy with a reddish-brown coat dominating most of its body.
Its face features a creamy white pattern typical of Simmental cattle, known as a ‘bald face’.
Its round, robust frame resembles that of Limousin cattle.
A sturdy hump and thick chest dewlap enhance its imposing appearance.
Despite its size, Reymon remains calm during monitoring. A green nose rope adds to its dignified yet gentle demeanour.
“Alhamdulillah, Depok has received a presidential sacrificial cow,” said Dadan Rustandi, Head of Depok City’s Food Security, Agriculture and Fisheries Agency (DKP3), quoted from the official Depok City website.
“Slaughter will take place at the RPH (slaughterhouse), with meat subsequently distributed to mosques in the Sawangan area,” he added.
Following the slaughter, Reymon’s sacrificial meat will be distributed to the public via the Sawangan District Mosque Welfare Council (DKM).
For residents, Reymon’s presence is not merely a spectacle due to its immense size but also a symbol of Eid al-Adha’s blessings this year.
