Meet Religious Leader in Cipete, Kaesang: We Will Come Frequently to Seek Advice
Jakarta – Kaesang Pangarep, Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), continued his Ramadan Safari series by visiting Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in the Cipete area of South Jakarta on Friday evening, 27 February 2026.
The visit was part of PSI’s agenda of building relationships with Islamic boarding schools during the holy month. Kaesang was welcomed directly by the head of Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, KH Muhiddin Ishaq, who also serves as Chairman of the Shura Council of the Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Board for Jakarta.
Several officials from the Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Board for Jakarta, community figures, and religious leaders attended the meeting. In a warm and familial atmosphere, Kaesang expressed his appreciation for the advice and input provided.
“Once again, we from PSI express our gratitude for all the advice and input. With your permission, sir, perhaps we will frequently visit here to seek advice again,” said Kaesang.
Beyond meeting the pesantren leadership, Kaesang also interacted with hundreds of students. The interaction was relaxed and informal. He even posed several questions and quizzes to the students, which they responded to with enthusiasm.
The Ramadan Safari is being conducted simultaneously by PSI leaders across various regions. From regional party boards to the national leadership, PSI is conducting outreach visits to Islamic boarding schools throughout Indonesia.
Ahmad Ali, Daily Chairman of the PSI National Leadership Board, emphasised that this activity is not merely a ceremonial agenda, but rather a momentum to strengthen relations with Islamic boarding school communities.
“We are doing this as a token of respect to the teachers, religious leaders, and scholars who have been the guardians of the nation’s moral values,” said Ahmad Ali.
The visit is part of PSI’s efforts to build communication and proximity with various elements of society, particularly Islamic boarding school communities, during this year’s Ramadan.
