Meet dream child from Soppeng

JAKARTA (JP): Dian Mayestika Putri, 5, has no ordinary eating
and sleeping disorder. The little girl living in Soppeng, South
Sulawesi, won't eat and sleep until her dream to meet a
government official comes true.

So since Dian showed the strange symptoms last Ramadhan, her
mother has gone all the way to meet some top local bureaucrats,
such as South Sulawesi governor HZB Palaguna, local military
chief Maj. Gen. Suaidi Marasabessy, Parepare regent Basrah Hafid,
Soppeng regent Andi Paeruddin Saisal and Ujungpandang mayor Malik
B. Masry.

Dian's puzzled relatives have consulted her unusual habit to a
psychiatric only to be assured that the girl has no mental
disorder.

The latest she made a scene was on Tuesday when her mother
introduced her to mayor Masry in Ujungpandang as she irresistibly
demanded.

Dian wanted to see the mayor without her mother because she
did not want her conversation with the official heard by anyone
else, Antara reported.

The amused mayor revealed later that Dian prayed for him to
become a cabinet minister someday. She refused the money he
offered and instead she accepted a satin sarong and a clock.

Now the petite girl is aiming big: she wants to see President
B.J. Habibie. (pan)
