Aceh Tamiang, Aceh — The director of Muda Sedia Aceh Tamiang Regional Hospital, Andika Putra, stated that medicine stocks at the hospital are sufficiently adequate to serve residents’ needs following the recent disaster in the region.

“Medicine stocks are currently secure as post-disaster aid supplies have been genuinely helpful to us,” he said during a visit to the hospital in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh Province, on Monday.

In addition to medicines sourced from post-disaster assistance, the hospital’s existing pharmaceutical inventory remains intact as it was not affected by flooding. The pharmaceutical warehouse located on the second floor was a significant advantage, preventing medicines from being swept away by floodwaters.

“Our current medicine stocks are sufficient for several months ahead,” he stated.

The hospital also plans to procure additional medicines to ensure adequate supplies to meet the needs of Aceh Tamiang residents.

Andika explained that recovery of hospital services continues to this day. The cleaning phase has been completed and is being followed by drainage and clean water system repairs. All hospital buildings are being cleaned and repainted with assistance from PT WIKA from the Ministry of Public Works.

He noted that certain facility needs must still be met in stages, such as hospital beds, which currently number only 100 units compared with 245 units before the disaster.

“We continue to coordinate with ministries to document and complete the healthcare equipment needed by the hospital,” he said.
