Medical Intern at UISU Who Filmed 34 Female Students in a Toilet Dismissed
The Islamic University of North Sumatra (UISU) has officially dismissed Agung Novriyan, a student from the Faculty of Medicine’s Medical Professional Study Program.
Agung was previously involved in a pornography case by installing CCTV cameras in the women’s toilet at Raden Mattaher Hospital. A total of 34 female medical interns at the hospital were victims.
The Head of Public Relations at UISU, Zakaria Siregar, stated that the decision to dismiss Agung is outlined in the Rector’s Decree of UISU Number: 51/R/SK/II/2026, signed by the Rector of UISU, Safrida.
“UISU has decided to dismiss Agung Novriyan, student number 71250891066, as a student of the Faculty of Medicine at the Islamic University of North Sumatra in the Medical Professional Study Program because he no longer meets the requirements as a transfer student,” said Zakaria Siregar on Thursday (February 26th).
In conjunction with this, the Rector’s Decree also revokes the Rector’s Decree of the Islamic University of North Sumatra Number 145/R/SK/VII/2025, dated July 25th, 2025, regarding the acceptance of Agung Novriyan as a transfer student from the University of Jambi’s Medical Study Program.
“Therefore, all rights and obligations of the individual as a student of the Faculty of Medicine at the Islamic University of North Sumatra in the Medical Professional Study Program are no longer valid,” he explained.
Separately, the Head of LLDikti Region 1, Saiful Anwar Matondang, stated that UISU’s decision to dismiss the medical student is appropriate because he no longer meets the requirements as a transfer student at UISU.
“UISU’s decision is also in line with the government’s spirit regarding the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (PPKPT) in accordance with Permendikbudristek Number 55 of 2024,” he said.
It is known that Agung was previously involved in a pornography case by installing CCTV cameras in the women’s toilet at Raden Mattaher Hospital. A total of 34 female medical interns at the hospital were victims.
The incident occurred in December 2023. Agung was then reported by the victims to the Jambi Police. On August 12th, 2024, the Jambi District Court sentenced Agung to 1 year and 3 months in prison.
After serving his sentence, Agung apparently continued his professional studies at the Islamic University of North Sumatra. A video of Agung continuing his studies went viral on social media.
