Medical costs for KMP Putri Yasmin fire victims covered by Jasa Raharja
Mataram (ANTARA) - PT Jasa Raharja President Director Muhammad Awaluddin has stated that the medical treatment costs for victims of the KMP Putri Yasmin fire will be borne by the state-owned enterprise. Awaluddin explained that the medical cover is not limited to Jasa Raharja’s maximum limit of Rp20 million, but includes additional cover from Asuransi Jasaraharja Putera worth Rp37.5 million. “So, it is a ceiling for hospital treatment so that victims with serious, moderate, or minor injuries can fully recover and return home safely,” he said. When asked about the number of evacuees reaching 212 as of Wednesday evening, exceeding the manifest figure of 131 people, he stated he could not yet confirm whether all would be covered by Jasa Raharja. He stressed that all victims of the incident remain a priority for Jasa Raharja, particularly those who sustained injuries. “We will continue to follow the dynamics of information and data developments until everything is announced,” he said. “Provisional data from the Lembar Port Authority Office and Basarnas as of last night shows a total of 212 people evacuated, one fatality, and 19 injured,” he added. Syamsurizal and Muhammad Awaluddin made the statement after visiting the parents of the deceased victim, Indah Dwi Septiani, at the Satbrimobda NTB Complex in Mataram City. During the meeting, they expressed their condolences and symbolically handed over compensation to Indah Dwi Septiani’s parents as the heirs. Also present were PT Asuransi Jasaraharja Putera President Director Abdul Haris, Chairman of the National Association of River, Lake and Ferry Transport Entrepreneurs (Gapasdap) Khoiri Soetomo, and representatives from the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation.
