Mediation Turns Violent: PSI Deputy Chairman Bro Ron Assaulted, Sustaining Injury to Temple

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Ronald A. Sinaga, familiarly known as Bro Ron, was punched by two men at the MPP law firm office on Jalan Soeroso, Cikini, Menteng sub-district, Central Jakarta, on Monday (4/5/2026). The assault on Ronald went viral on Tuesday (5/5/2026), after it was uploaded by Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives (DPR RI), Ahmad Sahroni, on his official Instagram account @ahmadsahroni88. When confirmed, Ronald revealed that the incident occurred while he was accompanying employees of PT SKS to an audience at the MPP law firm office. The employees reportedly had not received their salaries from the company, allegedly held by MPP. “Accompanying them for the issue of employee salaries and accountability for PT SKS company funds amounting to Rp9 billion,” said Ronald when confirmed by Kompas.com on Tuesday (5/5/2026). “(Salaries) Not paid. Whether they are being withheld or what, we don’t know for sure yet because there has been no clarification from them (MPP),” he explained. The reason Bro Ron was invited by the PT SKS employees is because he is considered to know the leadership of the MPP office. This is because the leadership of the MPP law firm was previously his legal representative in 2025. “Because the head of this law firm is my former partner last year. And I was asked to help with the mediation,” Ronald revealed. However, when the PT SKS employees were about to mediate in front of the MPP office building, suddenly three people entered the MPP office. Those who claimed to be MPP office security personnel asked the PT SKS employees and Bro Ron to leave the building if they wanted to hold a demonstration. A verbal altercation between the three unidentified men, the PT SKS employees, and Ronald was unavoidable. According to Ronald, the three men were successfully pushed back by members of the Menteng Police Sector who were already present at the location beforehand. “Pushed back means escorted down via the lift, whether they were thrown out or escorted to the building lobby,” said Ronald.
