MediaTek prepares Dimensity 9600 chip
Jakarta (ANTARA) - MediaTek is reportedly preparing the Dimensity 9600 and Dimensity 9600 Pro, chipsets utilising 2nm fabrication technology expected to launch by the end of 2026.
Gizmochina reported on Tuesday (7/4) that informant Digital Chat Station (DCS) revealed performance improvements offered by the Dimensity 9600 in a post on the Weibo platform.
According to DCS, the Dimensity 9600 is likely to use a CPU configuration with two ultra cores (dual ultra-core).
This chipset is rumoured to achieve peak clock speeds approaching 5GHz, placing it at a new level in mobile processor performance.
Its architecture is expected to employ a 2+3+3 configuration, with two high-performance main cores to handle heavy tasks.
Additionally, the chipset is anticipated to be built using TSMC’s N2P fabrication process, which is claimed to reduce power consumption by 25-30%.
The standard version is likely an upgrade from the Dimensity 9500+, while the Pro and Pro Max variants will use 2nm architecture.
The Dimensity 9600 is expected to benefit from MediaTek’s involvement in developing advanced artificial intelligence (AI) chips, including improved AI capabilities in devices and enhanced power efficiency.
Previous leaks mentioned that this chipset will be used in several upcoming flagship phones such as the Vivo X500 series and Oppo Find X10, particularly in the Pro Max variant.
