Mediatek Dimensity 7500 Chip Officially Launched, Brings 200MP Camera to Budget Phones

Mobile chipmaker Mediatek has officially launched a new mid-range smartphone chipset, the Dimensity 7500. The successor to the Dimensity 7400 brings enhancements across multiple areas, including artificial intelligence (AI), gaming, camera capabilities, and power efficiency. The Dimensity 7500 is manufactured using 4-nanometer (nm) process technology and is designed to deliver more responsive performance than its predecessor. In terms of AI, the 4nm-fabricated chip features a new Neural Processing Unit (NPU) called the NPU 850. Mediatek claims the AI capabilities of this chipset have more than doubled compared to the previous generation. The chipset is also compatible with various smartphone language models. This enables faster AI processing while maintaining user privacy, as data is processed directly on the device. For performance, the Dimensity 7500 features an octa-core CPU based on the latest Armv9.3-A architecture. The CPU consists of four Arm C1 Pro cores clocked up to 2.6 GHz for high performance and four Arm C1 Nano cores at up to 2.0 GHz for power efficiency. Mediatek claims this CPU configuration delivers faster app switching, shorter game loading times, and more responsive file transfers. In gaming, the Dimensity 7500 includes HyperEngine and Adaptive Gaming Technology (MAGT) 4.0. These technologies ensure more stable frame rates during gameplay and improved thermal management to prevent overheating. For photography, the chipset supports cameras up to 200 megapixels and features the Imagiq 1050 Image Signal Processor (ISP), which includes hardware-based noise reduction and enhanced low-light photo quality.
