Mediated by Police and Manpower Ministry, Company Agrees to Pay Workers' Rights of IDR 12.7 Billion
The Employment Desk of the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim Polri), together with the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker), has completed mediation in the dispute between PT Amos Indah Indonesia and its workers. In the mediation, the company agreed to pay severance entitlements to 134 workers affected by layoffs, amounting to IDR 12.7 billion.
Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor appreciated the collaboration between the Ministry and the Police’s Employment Desk in resolving the case, which had been ongoing since March 2026. He stated that mediation represents the state’s commitment to delivering justice for workers.
“Today we have successfully mediated between PT Amos Indah Indonesia and the labour union, involving almost 134 people,” Afriansyah Noor said at the Bareskrim Polri building in South Jakarta on Thursday (23/7/2026).
Afriansyah explained that the dispute began with layoffs in March 2026. At that time, the workers perceived an injustice and staged a demonstration at the Ministry of Manpower’s office. The Ministry then coordinated with the Police’s Employment Desk to resolve the industrial dispute, giving them one month to settle the matter.
“But thank God, within three weeks, the Ministry of Manpower and the Employment Desk, together with the management of PT Amos and its labour union, sat down together and agreed on what the union demanded,” he explained. “So, the 134 cases are resolved, the layoffs still occur, and they are given IDR 12.7 billion in total, with variations according to their respective lengths of service,” he added.
Head of the Employment Desk at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Muhammad Irhamni, stated that this agreement provides a solution for both employers and workers. He said the Police want workers’ rights to be guaranteed and employers to feel comfortable doing business in Indonesia.
“Workers who have received severance pay, this is their right for the layoffs they have experienced. Meanwhile, the employers feel that this is a fair resolution, and they can continue to do business in Indonesia safely and comfortably,” Irhamni said.
Irhamni emphasised that the resolution of this industrial dispute aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s vision to maintain economic stability and worker welfare. “So that both parties, and the government, can accept the outcome, the economy continues to run, and workers remain prosperous, in line with President Prabowo’s Asta Cita programme that Indonesian workers must be prosperous,” he stated.
