Medan's Dekranasda: KKSU 2026 a Platform for MSMEs to Expand Product Reach

Medan (ANTARA) - The Regional National Craft Council (Dekranasda) of Medan City, North Sumatra, said craft exhibitions such as the Karya Kreatif Sumatera Utara (KKSU) 2026 serve as a platform for MSMEs to introduce their products more widely.

“This is certainly very helpful for MSMEs to introduce their products to a broader audience,” said Febri, a Dekranasda Medan stall officer, at the KKSU event in Medan on Saturday.

He said such activities are highly beneficial, not only for strengthening relationships but also for showcasing the craft products of each region.

“This can elevate the works of the nation’s children so they can eventually compete globally,” he said.

Febri said Dekranasda Medan displayed various craft products from 15 micro, small and medium enterprises under its guidance.

The products on display included woven fabrics and songket, clothing made from woven materials, leather bags, wallets and various other accessories.

“The products on display are the result of the strict curation we carried out. Many of them have caught visitors’ attention,” he said.

Therefore, he hopes such events can be held more frequently in Medan, so that local craft products become better known and more competitive.

“We hope there will be more activities like this in Medan City, so MSME players have greater opportunities to promote their products,” he explained.

The Karya Kreatif Sumatera Utara event runs for 12 days, from 15 to 26 July 2026, involving dozens of MSMEs and local designers.

The Bank Indonesia North Sumatra Provincial Representative Office (KPwBI) said Karya Kreatif Sumatera Utara strengthens the micro, small and medium enterprise ecosystem in the region to expand market access from the national to the international level.

“KKSU 2026 is a moment to strengthen North Sumatra’s MSME ecosystem so that it becomes more resilient, adaptive to the times, and able to expand market access nationally and internationally,” said Ameriza M Moesa, Head of Bank Indonesia’s North Sumatra Provincial Representative Office.
