PT Kereta Api Indonesia Regional Division I North Sumatra has expressed appreciation to the Medan District Prosecutor’s Office for successfully recovering state assets under the company’s management. The symbolic handover of assets was conducted by the Head of North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office, Harli Siregar, together with the Head of Medan District Prosecutor’s Office, Ridwan Sujana Angsar, to the Vice President of KAI Divre I North Sumatra, Sofan Hidayah, at the Medan District Prosecutor’s Office on Tuesday, 10 March.

The recovered assets consist of three parcels of land and buildings owned by PT KAI in Medan with a combined value of Rp55,859,220,000.

Vice President Sofan Hidayah stated that the asset recovery resulted from synergy between state-owned enterprises and law enforcement in protecting state wealth. “We appreciate the support of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office and the Medan District Prosecutor’s Office in the legal assistance process, enabling KAI’s state assets to be recovered. Railway assets hold strategic value in supporting public services, and this recovery ensures KAI can utilise these assets optimally for transportation services and development,” said Sofan.

Head of North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office Harli Siregar noted that the asset return represents law enforcement efforts and recovery of state assets previously controlled unlawfully. “This successful recovery reflects the hard work, dedication, and synergy of various parties, particularly the Medan District Prosecutor’s Office, which worked professionally through investigation and asset recovery stages. Collaboration between law enforcement and state institutions is crucial to protect state assets from misuse and enable their utilisation for state and public benefit,” said Harli.

KAI Divre I North Sumatra Acting Communications Manager, Anwar Yuli Prastyo, disclosed that the three recovered asset locations have a combined land area of 3,272 square metres, with buildings totalling 485 square metres and a combined asset value of 55 billion rupiah. “Strong collaboration between KAI Divre I North Sumatra and law enforcement ensures state assets are not misappropriated but managed entirely for public interest. With these assets returned to state control, KAI commits to continuously improving transportation service quality, benefiting all North Sumatra residents,” said Anwar.
