Medan City Government Finalises Preparations for Permanent 'Sekolah Rakyat' Transition
The Medan City Government in North Sumatra is finalising the transition for a permanent ‘Sekolah Rakyat’ (People’s School) to implement the national programme.
To ensure a smooth transition, a transition team meeting was held along with the distribution of tasks for the Medan city administration in organising the People’s School in Medan, said Sofyan, Assistant for Government and People’s Welfare of the Medan Regional Secretariat, on Monday.
Sofyan stated that the meeting discussed the city government’s readiness to optimise the national strategic project in Medan. He urged all regional apparatus organisations to immediately follow up on the task descriptions that have been assigned.
Synchronisation and sharpening of tasks from each regional apparatus organisation are considered crucial for the implementation of the People’s School in Medan to ensure it runs optimally and is well-targeted.
Medan Mayor Rico Tri Putra Waas previously requested all relevant policy makers to optimise the construction of the People’s School in his area. He noted that the school, located on Jalan Flamboyan Raya III, Tanjung Selamat Village, Medan Tuntungan District, will utilise a six-hectare plot of land.
Collaboration between the central and regional governments is key to ensuring the People’s School can be utilised by the community as soon as possible, the mayor said.
