Meat stocks for 'Lebaran' adequate

JAKARTA (JP): The meat stocks for the upcoming Idul Fitri
festivities, locally known as Lebaran, are adequate so there is
no reason for the public to be worried, the head of the Jakarta
Husbandry Office announced.

Sumitro said on Saturday that in order to accommodate the
rising demand for meat during the days leading up to the Moslem
holidays, his office has cooperated with a number of cattle
producing provinces including West Java, Central Java, East
Jakarta, Yogyakarta, East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara,
Bali, South Sulawesi and Lampung.

"So the public should not be inordinately worried about the
stock of meat," he said. (bas)
